Holiday Inn / a demolition log
This design log starts from the hypothesis that the Holiday Inn ruin is no longer to be considered an abandoned building. It has become part of the terrain of the city, and is owned [at least visually] by its people. This is a series of experiments in demolishing Holiday Inn, questioning the awareness of its owners of its existence. It is a proposal of an alternative mode of dealing with the abandoned layer of Beirut's landscape, one that is not about masking or deletion - but rather about birthing new spaces using this abandoned layer as base grid.
